The registration process enables participating schools to secure their attendance at the event.
The collection of relevant participant information ensures the organisation, supervision and safety of all who attend. This information allows the organisers to properly plan accommodation, catering, the awards program, infrastructure and venue management.
Generations in Jazz has partnered with a limited number of motels, private homes and caravan parks in Mount Gambier and surrounding townships to offer this tier to participants who select it.
Option 1 might require schools to travel to accommodation located in neighbouring towns.
Consideration will be given to schools having to travel further distances for their performance times
This is a popular package and is ideal for those looking to keep the costs of their trip as low as possible.
Allocated accommodation in Option 3 is to sporting clubs, schools and local halls throughout the community. The Generations in Jazz Accommodation team have inspected these venues to conform to overnight accommodation provider regulations
This experience offers a more relaxing environment for students, teachers and supervisors outside of the commercial accommodation provider. Many clubs provide a very personal contribution from committee members and “bend over backwards “ to ensure you have a great time .
Option 3 requires staff and students to bring their own bedding (sleeping bags, blankets, pillow and towels) . Airbeds are provided by Generations in Jazz and will be already setup by your host venue prior to your arrival.
If you wish to discuss any specific requirements your school may have before choosing this option please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Most charter companies require you to include meals and accommodation for your charter driver.
Please register this driver ( s) under the driver number on the registration form.
If the driver of your transport is registered as a Supervisor please do not register this as an added Driver number
Please contact Generations in Jazz if you require guidance with the registration process
The Generations in Jazz Board appoints an Official Accommodation Committee to secure suitable accommodation at affordable prices for registered participants.
This assists groups to reduce costs and make participation as accessible as possible.
Accommodation allocations are made based on option selection, participant numbers per school and venue capacity.
Ideally we would love to be able to offer everyone their first option so we would ask that you do indicate your first preference. Realistically though it might not always be possible to provide you with your preference. If this is the situation one of our accommodation team will be in touch to discuss your alternate option based on your registered numbers.
To cater for the influx of visitors and participants, the community of Mount Gambier has thrown open their doors to support Generations in Jazz. For the duration of the festival period home owners vacate their properties renting them directly to Generations in Jazz for accommodation of school groups which is fast becoming a popular selection for festival participants.
Homes undergo the required checks prior to allocations are made with home owners working with GIJ to ensure everything is in place before your arrival.
Offering true community and country hospitality and only a short drive from the festival site why not consider the private home option for your next visit to Generations in Jazz. To discuss this option further contact the Generations in Jazz office today.
Please contact Generations in Jazz if you require guidance with the registration process.
